In 2022, Türkiye positioned seventh globally with overseas tourism receipts amounting to over $41 billion, growing from $26.6 billion in 2019.
Also, it was world’s one of the top 10 destinations in 2022. With 50 million tourists, Türkiye in 2020 ranked fifth, ascending from the sixth position in the list of previous year.
In 2022, the U.S. was the top earner with almost $135 billion followed by Spain with around $73 billion and the U.K. at $68 billion. The profits from the United Arab Emirates and France were at $61 billion and $60 billion, respectively. With $44 billion in tourism revenues, Italy ranked sixth.
In 2022, France was the top destination attracting 79 million tourists. At 72 million, Spain came second followed by the U.S. with 51 million.
Around 33.4 million international tourists visited Türkiye in the first eight months of 2023, highlighting a 14 percent rise from a year ago.
In 2023, Türkiye is focused to organize 60 million tourists and make $56 billion tourism revenues. In 2022, arrivals of international tourists globally dropped by 34 percent from 963 million in 2019, as export revenues from tourism were going low 34 percent to $1.3 trillion, as per the report of the U.N.
