A flight of Middle East Airlines that had taken off from Turkey was forced to opt for an emergency landing a short while after it took off from Istanbul on Friday following a hit from a ‘large bird’.
A statement on the Instagram page id Middle East Airlines mentioned that during the flight ME266 this airplane collided with a large bird that led the pilot to return to Ataturk International Airport and to land perfectly safely.
A spokesperson from the airline confirmed that the airplane had returned to the airport of Istanbul but could not offer any further details.
The spokesperson said that the passengers onboard are all safe and the airplane was undamaged.
She then went on to add that the passengers would all be notified when the plane is rescheduled to make the trip to Beirut.
