At WTM, amazing Thailand press conference took place!

The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, together with TAT Governor, Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, along with the TAT executives were present at the Amazing Thailand Press Conference that was arranged 6th November. The members of the global media and industry professionals attended the event.

The annual Responsible Thailand Awards identifies the champions of sustainable tourism of the kingdom in six different classes including 1) Nature, 2) Marine and Heritage, 3) Animal Welfare, 4) Community-based Tourism, 5) Green Steps and 6) Hotel, Eco Lodge/Eco Hotel. The winners of 2023 are New Heaven Reef Conservation Program, Mahouts Elephant Foundation, Devasom Khao Lak Resort, Kao Thep Pitak Community Restaurant, Elephant Hills, and Pattaya Elephant Sanctuary.

Just after the presentation of the awards, Ms. Thapanee gave a media speech and talked about a recent TVC on the idea of ‘Meaningful Relationship’ communication. This idea will be merged into the ongoing promotion of Thailand for TAT as a sustainable and responsible tourism effort. Together with the annual Responsible Thailand Awards, TAT has created and executed its personal Sustainable Tourism Goals in accordance with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations Development Program.

TAT’s STGs include the entire Thai tourism industry in a Sustainable Tourism Acceleration Rating system.
