The Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism expects a robust tourist season this summer, Minister Nikolina Angelkova told a press conference here after a working meeting with authorities in preparation for the season.
“Based on early bookings, we expect a growth of about 5 per cent. We will again count on the markets of Germany, Romania, Turkey, Russia, the UK, Poland, the Czech Republic, Israel and Hungary for this group.
“We hope to have six million foreign tourists this summer, between June and September. Last year we had 5.3 million foreign tourists. This shows a very positive and steady trend,” Angelkova said.
The minister promised rigorous control of the management of beaches. The inspections will begin right at the start of the season on June 1.
