A policymaker said that the Philippines has reserved 14 billion pesos in 2024 for improving access roads and bridges in tourist spots all through the country.

Marvin Rillo, the vice chair of the House of Representatives committee concerning tourism said
that the deposit finds its place on top of the 17.7 billion pesos which has been reserved for this year’s Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP).

Rillo said that they anticipate that the incremental expenditure for the TRIP to generate a horde of
construction-related employments that efficiently reallocate earnings to less income family units.

The better-quality infrastructure would also help in boosting tourist movement and work development in
lodging, conveyance, food and beverage facilities, amusement and other happenings in the tourism value
chain.

Data from the Philippines’ Department of Tourism projects that more than 3.4 million overseas tourists
came to the Southeast Asian nation considering Aug. South Koreans bagged the top spot among all
overseas influxes in the Philippines, followed by the Americans, Japanese, Chinese and the Australians.
