Jamaica Tourism Board to deliver virtual care package

The Jamaica Tourism Board has decided to use digital platforms to deliver a virtual care package to followers around the world. The virtual care package would be delivered in a time when the world is practicing social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The organization will begin delivery of the virtual package tomorrow. Titled as ‘Escape to Jamaica’ the session would be broadcasted on the tourism board’s social media. The live series will feature ZJ Sparks, one of the leading disc jockeys on the island.

The popular DJ will host a dance party and play the latest reggae and dancehall hits live from Jamaica. It will help viewers chill and unwind after another week of social distancing. ‘Escape to Jamaica’ will occur weekly on the Jamaica Tourist Board’s Instagram channel.

In addition to sharing some good vibes, the series will also feature live cooking demos. It will also showcase some pre-recorded wellness sessions. The first wellness session is scheduled to be telecasted on Monday with Empress Thandi Wise.

On Wednesday, the first cooking demo session will feature Andre Fowles, culinary ambassador for Miss Lily’s in New York, Negril, and Dubai.

Donovan White, Director of Tourism, Jamaica said in a recent press statement that the tourism board is aware that people from all corners of the globe might need an escape at the present grave moment of crisis. He mentioned that with the help of the live series, Jamaica will offer a virtual getaway for visitors to experience its music, cuisine, culture, warm people and the indomitable Jamaican spirit.

He also said that as visitors are unable to visit Jamaica at present due to the coronavirus crisis, the tourism board aims to bring the heartbeat of the world to their homes. He further assured that Jamaica will be present to welcome travelers when the right time arrives. He shared that visitors and followers should be aware that everyone can get through the tough times together.
