Indonesia is moving toward digital tourism. Industry players have been told to remain prepared for themselves.
As per Antara news agency, the call was made by the Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno.
“Nowadays, almost everything is done digitally,” Sandiaga mentioned this on Wednesday via an online press conference.
He explained that the digitisation process can be seen in many platforms, mainly in the transformation and promotion of tourism destinations.
Industry players, for this can start paying attention in developing creative content to increase tourism promotion along with standardisation of accommodation services through Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment Sustainability (CHSE) certificates.
However the industry players need all round support to attain optimal results, Sandiaga said.
Also, he mentioned about the huge potential of tourist villages that could boost the economy as well as develop new business opportunities in the creative economy.
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, earlier, had launched the 2022 Indonesia Tourism Village Award (ADWI) that is targeting 3,000 tourist villages at present.
The award will urge tourist villages to turn into competitive holiday destinations. It will encourage more promotional efforts that can help financial recovery efforts and bring more opportunities for people.
For tourist villages in ADWI, seven categories of assessment are in place, including tourist village that draws visitors with its uniqueness and authenticity of natural and artificial aspects as well as arts and culture.
