Tourism Malaysia joined hands with Dato’ Chef Ismail Ahmad along with The Association of Spouses of Heads of Diplomatic Missions in Malaysia (SOHOM) concerning the Gastro diplomacy Plan, which targets to uphold Malay cooking amongst partners of envoys in Malaysia by undergoing directly in preparing the locals’ comfort
food.


The programme started on 13 to 14 September this year, when SOHOM associates had the exclusive prospect to acquire the skill of cooking indigenous traditional Malay fare at Rebung Restaurant. This comprised the preparation of masak lemak cili padi, onde – onde along with a distinct technique of banana fritters by Rebung Restaurant.


Cuisine in Malaysia is its exclusive forte, playing a dynamic role in encouraging tourism. The priceless programmes at one of most premium restaurants in Malaysia including a collection of traditional indigenous food are guaranteed to entice a surplus of overseas holidaymakers in Malaysia. In effect, some of the spouses have by this time brought their visitors to have dinner at Chef Ismail’s Rebung Restaurant.


On 20 th September this year, the contributors had the opportunity to holiday at the iconic Putrajaya, and all through the half-day trip, contributors relished a voyage on Putrajaya, taking delight in the magnificent sights of iconic structures and the attractive backdrop of Putrajaya. They also learned about the antiquity of Putrajaya, visited a chocolate shop, and toured the Tuanku Mizan Mosque, eminently known as Masjid Besi. The concluding stopover of the tour was the Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC), where Perbadanan Putrajaya organized lunch.
