CWT, a Travel management company, is to step up further its work on sustainable travel after partnering with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council’s network.

CWT stated that in GSTC’s initiation to attain the adoption of “universal sustainable travel” principles, it would become an “active contributor”.

The TMC this year has implemented many sustainability initiatives including the addition of Carbon Emission Summary dashboards, which would provide clients an impression of their CO2 effect from travel, along with providing on flights and hotels within booking platforms.

Charlie Sullivan, the vice president of product management, TMC said that CWT has worked jointly with its customers along with its partners for more than a decade to offer ground-breaking sustainable corporate travel solutions and insights.

Charlie stated that they are quite excited to be part of the GSTC family, combining the efforts to motivate awareness and adoption of standards for sustainable travel.

GSTC is a non-profit organization. It was set up by United Nations agencies and well-known conservation bodies with the aim of starting and managing global standards for sustainability in tourism, which are known as the GSTC Criteria.

These criteria are based around four major themes: effectual sustainability planning, maximising social and financial profits for the local community, improving cultural heritage and lessening negative influence to the environment.

CWT said that in the sustainability field, it would carry on working with carbon data specialist Thrust Carbon and others to enhance its services to clients even further.
