Georgia’s tourism segment tops an unprecedented high

A new financial report – arranged by Tourism Economics – reveals that Georgia’s tourism segment
has topped at an unprecedented high.

Economists are of the opinion that with the world’s most hectic airport and big sporting occasions
comprising the masters and large meetings, Georgia lures tourists and visitors, since it boasts of beaches,
mountains and important cities.


New financial statistics reveal that visitors spent almost $33 billion dollars in 2022 in Georgia, increasing 15%, climaxing at the levels before the pandemic. 


A majority of this expenditure came from conveyance – food and beverage, accommodation, merchandizing and leisure spending.


Bill Crane, Georgia political and economic specialist said that Georgia is among the 50 states considering
tourism dollars comprising sports like Braves, Hawks, Falcons and they are a sports town.


Crane said that the FIFA World Cup will attract more admirers, TV dollars and a greater worldwide
spectators than the Olympics and Final Four combined.


In only six years, Georgia’s tourism visitor expenditure has augmented by $6 billion, with only a drop in 2020 owing to the lockdown in the course of the pandemic. 


Governor Brian Kemp said that Georgia witnessed approximately $170 million in local and global tourists
last year fetching almost $40 billion dollars. After the pandemic, travel has generated over 20,000
employments.
