As per the data from the UNTWO, Chinese nationals occupied the first position in 2018 for having the highest tourism expenditure with roughly €262 billion spent in this country. The expenditure levels peaked at €154 billion by the end of 2019 for the Chinese nationals. This was followed by €49 billion from the US and €46 billion from Germany.
