After easing the border restrictions related to coronavirus was done in Southeast Asia, expectations are quite high for a tourism renewal as the sector prepares for the post-pandemic era.
A theme park with the name Columbia Pictures Aquaverse, whose launch got delayed for one whole year due to the pandemic, opened finally on Oct. 12 in the neighborhood of Pattaya, a well-liked destination for the tourists and a two-hour drive from Bangkok.
The theme park features a huge swimming pool along with water slides based on famous Hollywood movies like Jumanji and Ghostbusters. A park official said that they want to bring their stories to the tourists worldwide in new ways, not just via movies or books.
Also, plans have been unveiled for a new theme park to be made with special attractions based on the movies made by Paramount Pictures and shot on Bali, Indonesia, one of the region’s most sought-after tourist destinations.
As per local media reports, it will have hotels and other facilities besides attractions, and will be Southeast Asia’s one of the largest theme parks which is even bigger than Disneyland in Tokyo. By 2025, it’s expected to be open for the public.
In Southeast Asia, the easing of border restrictions due to pandemic started-off in spring. Upon entry, no longer the travelers are required to produce proof of vaccination or negative certificates in Thailand.
