Qatar Airways has become the Official Global Airline Partner of FC Internazionale Milano (Inter), a top-tier Italian football team, in a historic move announced at the Dubai Airshow 2023. The agreement, which was announced by Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Engr. Badr Al Meer, spans several areas, including branding, hospitality, and marketing, and strengthens Qatar Airways’ presence in Italy and Europe.

The multi-year arrangement was signed during the Dubai Airshow and includes rights not just for Qatar Airways but also for Qatar Duty-Free and Hamad International Airport. This strategic partnership will provide Inter fans with customized travel solutions as well as exclusive access to special Qatar Airways Privilege Club flight pricing, boosting their overall experience.

During the announcement, Engr. Badr Al Meer gave a tour of the Qatar Airways aircraft on exhibit to members of the Inter management team, including the famous Marco Materazzi. This gesture represents the projected success of Qatar Airways Group and Inter Milan’s sports collaboration.

In addition, Hamad International Airport serves as the ‘Official Airport,’ Qatar Duty-Free serves as the ‘Official Duty-Free,’ Qatar Airways Privilege Club serves as the ‘Official Frequent Flyer Programme,’ and Qatar Airways Holidays serves as the ‘Official Fan Travel Partner’ in Qatar.

To commemorate this partnership, Qatar Airways Privilege Club is providing Inter fans with up to a 12% discount on flight fares, allowing them to see the iconic Italian team in action at the San Siro Stadium.

The expanded relationship with Qatar Tourism emphasizes both entities’ shared purpose, encourages strong relations between Italy and Qatar, and helps the achievement of Qatar’s national purpose by 2030.

With Qatar Airways as Inter’s primary travel partner, the airline enjoys enhanced visibility in Milan via branded LED signage outside Inter’s historic San Siro Stadium. FC Internazionale Milano, a club with a strong history of success, aligns with Qatar Airways’ aim of unifying the world through the power of sport.

Qatar Airways, which now operates from two airports in Italy, plans to boost its flights from Rome Fiumicino from one to three daily flights beginning in January 2024, further confirming its commitment to offering great services to Italy and beyond.
