Jamaica is at great height these days.
The nation is tourism-dependent and has made hay during the COVID by introducing a sternly controlled ‘resilient corridor’ that effectively kept the virus spread to a minimum level and provided people the assurance that they can visit their country when majority of the world was locked down.
With the COVID situation started fading away, Jamaica continues to make profit from that head-start, closing in on ten successive quarters of financial progress. In in the Caribbean, it’s the only country with created such a huge record.
Hon. Edmund Bartlett, the Minister of Tourism, said that the situation of Jamaica is a demo of the resilience of the sector, and the potential of the industry as a key background for generating job opportunities and grow financial prosperity.
Bartlett as one of the global thought leaders of tourism, has worked in close association with organizations like CTO, UNWTO, and the Regional Commission of the Americas. He is also the founder as well as the Co-Chair of the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre.
It mainly aims on management and retrieval from disturbances and crises and destination preparedness. Bartlett said in an interview that tourism in Jamaica is evolving to deliver more benefits to the country.
