As per new study from Oxford Economics, Airbnb is a significant support of Goa’s tourism segment, adding more than USD$108 million to Gross Domestic Product and backing more than 11,500 domestic jobs last year itself.
The study also emphasized the influential multiplier influence Airbnb visitor expenditure has within domestic communities. In India, Goa grabs a major portion of Airbnb visitor expenditure, amounting to a total of USD$189 million last year, in areas such as purchases on conveyance, restaurants and retail stores.
Amanpreet Bajaj, the General Manager of Airbnb India, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan stated that Goa is a greatly desirable tourism place, and is among the most popular destinations in India. He said that they identify the huge worth of encouraging tourism that is not only high-quality but also sustainable supporting the Goan community. The study reiterates the insightful optimistic influence Airbnb visitors leave on the native families, trades and societies. As the mainstay of Goa’s economy, the tourism segment not only gives rise to micro-entrepreneurship prospects but also provides work opportunities for locals in numerous tourism-related undertakings.
Mr. Bajaj said that in the coming days, they are willing to expand their partnership with the Goa Tourism
Division. In a united way, they aim to encourage tourism that boasts of high quality and also promotes
responsible travel performances, thus increasing the travellers’ experience while concurrently fostering the
local communities all over the state.
