Tourism Cares recently declared that Paula Vlamings will be its newly elected chief executive officer with an immediate effect.
Vlamings is well-known for its rich background related to successful introduction of the efforts of social impact in the travel industry. Derek Hydon, Tourism Cares Board Chairman admired Vlamings as a dynamic leader who will direct the association throughout the next phase of its undertaking to influence the travel and tourism and help people and places to flourish.
To quote Hydon, “This transition reflects both our strong growth over the last several years and our commitment to harness the power of change through travel. With new leadership and enhanced capacity in social enterprise development, we’ll deepen the impact of our initiatives and the value we provide our 200-plus members, our incredible partner network and the beneficiaries of our programs.”
Vlamings has profound knowledge in managing relevant strategic planning and operations. She was the erstwhile executive director of the Planeterra Foundation with G Adventures and also provided senior sustainability leadership to the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy’s Institute at the Golden Gate.
Recently, her love for travel comprised a two-year old overland journey from San Francisco to Tierra del Fuego.
Vlamings will move to the Boston area to manage the staff from the headquarters of the organization in Norwood, Massachusetts. Also, she will work with the board of directors from there along with the Tourism Cares and travel industry community to flourish global network of individuals and companies all set to develop and execute substantial programs which together illustrate that travel is a positive impact on the world.
