Bright BrusselsFor four days, the streets in the neighbourhoods of Béguinage – Dixmude and Dansaert glowed with eleven sparkling displays and light animations. International artists and groups have flocked to some of the least known emblematic areas in the city especially for the occasion. A wonderful opportunity for visitors to discover or rediscover these neighbourhoods in a whole new light. Hidden treasures such as the Béquinage quarter and the Pacheco Institute have revealed their best-kept secrets.

Nearly 120, 000 visitors explored the streets of Béguinage – Dixmude and Dansaert.

On the initiative of Pascal Smet, Brussels Minister for Mobility and Public Works and Rudi
Vervoort, the Minister and President of the Brussels region, visit.brussels has coordinated
the arrangements for these majestic pieces right in the heart of the Capital of Europe.

“The second edition of Bright Brussels has been a real success. Thanks to the fact that this
edition has moved to the centre, many more visitors have been able to Enjoy it. Of course there are some points I’d liketo improve next year, such as making the whole trajectory carfree, and thereby safer and more enjoyable. We would also like to see how we can smoothen the traffic at some of the key crossroads” says Pascal Smet.

“I am delighted to see that the Bright Festival has attracted even more people than last year.

It was a real success! Throughout the weekend, the festival has allowed Brussels and visitors to discover, through other lights, an authentic and friendly neighborhood, rich witness of the past port of Brussels” says Minister-President Rudi Vervoort.

See you next year for another edition of Bright Brussels, Festival of Light.
