Vancouver International Airport has just witnessed the busiest day of the travel season this year.
Up to about 83,000 passengers have been flying in and out daily during the holidays as per media, but Thursday was the busiest day as was expected.
The six busiest days were 21st December and 22nd December, though generally every year the busiest days are when students get out of school, that is the Boxing day, 28th December, 29th December and 1st January, and this is the period when people start returning to their work and school according to a personnel of YVR director of customer care.
Passengers need to take additional time to get to the airport and also check with their airlines on the status and timing of their flights.
The winter weather might have also interfered with the travel plans of most people of late. And Environment Canada has forecast flurries for many more days in the upcoming week.
On Tuesday, owing to wet, heavy snow, flights were delayed throughout the day while planes underwent de-icing.
The weather conditions in other parts of the nation might impact flights.
