The revival of tourism in the Asia-Pacific region after the pandemic situation has been powerful and the numbers in terms of tourism have reached around 80 per cent of the figures of 2019, the chief of PATA said this on Thursday.
During the second day of the 46th edition of the PATA Travel Mart, Mr. Peter Semone, was talking with the reporters. This event was being hosted here from October 4th till 6th .
After a hiatus of three years due to the pandemic situation, the physical version of the PATA Travel Mart is being held.
Retrieval from the numbers of 2019 in the Asia-Pacific region, Peter said that they are running at about 80 per cent. So, there is a repossession and they have to say it’s a robust recovery.
The tourism quality in terms of lengths of stays, is getting improved. It seems that when people are travelling, they are travelling seriously and, in a bit, more committed manner.
Semone added when asked about the revival achieved in tourism in the Asia-Pacific region.
Also, he shared some of the factors which have led to this “good recovery” later on the sidelines. For travel, pent-up demand is one of the main factors, he believes.
