An Austrian railway company has introduced new sleeper trains that will raise the bar for luxury in rail travel, which is making a comeback as more travelers choose environmentally friendly modes of transportation.

The state-owned OeBB, which operates 20 rail routes across Europe, has introduced 33 new trains with improved privacy and facilities.

It includes two-person cabins with en suite toilets and a shower. For lone travelers, there are also single-person accommodations.

The first might begin operation in December, connecting Vienna and Innsbruck to Hamburg, Germany.

The remainder will be implemented on additional routes through Austria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Switzerland until 2028.

The operator, whose sleeper trains have all been powered by renewable energy since 2018, is also resuming its Berlin-Paris night train service on December 11, nine years after it was discontinued.
